The Bardstown Police Department is a progressive department dedicated to making the City of Bardstown a safe community to live in and a great place to call home. The Police Department is staffed with 21 sworn police officers and 2 civilians. The department is made up of several divisions, which strive to keep Bardstown a safe and pleasant town to live and work in.

Our services cover areas from Bloomfield, Cox’s Creek, Chaplin, Fairfield, and Bardstown; to Boston, New Hope, New Haven, Balltown, Howardstown, Culvertown, and all points in between, as well neighboring counties.
Nelson County Emergency Management
The Emergency Management Agency (EMA), of Nelson County, serves as the first response to the potential catastrophic events that threaten our community. On a professional level, the preparation starts with extensive training and industry standard equipment. Our members are certified though the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Incident Management System (NIMS) training program.
